I did not say that - crev.org did.

I did a pretty smooth solo rescue of a grade 12 lad from Kal Lake today.

Water temp = 8 degrees? Brrrrr... It was suddenly windy and wavy which sometimes happens on these lakes.

Anyway, good practice for me...the kid was very cold but ok once I got him to shore and changed out of his clothes - Tip #1 of the day - don't wear jeans...

(2 kids in the water today luckily not at the same time- the second one was just a dummy fooling around - same boat though..... kid #1 had been moved to a tandem)

Tip #2 of the day:

ALWAYS KEEP YOUR PADDLE IN THE WATER - especially when you're in waves and wind.

Tip # 3 - be nice to me 'cause I'm saving the tippy boat for someone who has been mean to me in the last little while so watch it - that could be you (Dobra?)

I'd like to be the first to request the non tippy tandem. Please explain how the first kid ended up in the water. What about my claustrophobia? How will I keep the paddle in the water while I'm drinking a glass of wine? What if I spill my wine? We are NOT off to a good start.

The tandems aren't tippy, They are a little like taking the bus. You can put your wine in your hydra-pack (old school teacher trick)

Dawn is the adventurous one so she can have the tippy one (just kidding!)

We will have some practice on the lake before we "hit" the ocean.

okay, I need a name, maybe a really original one like "FEARLESS LEADER" or maybe a name full of fromage such as "schmyak" or what about the really sexy name "banjo man"? This is ALOT of pressure....it's going to take me some time...BTW, where are all the other team members? Is this a sign of things to come??
